Photoshop Planet with timeline animations




The Tutorial:
1st try - New - 1000x1000 - transparent background – name: planet
Change Name: layer 1  background then Paint black
Use elliptical marque tool – draw large circle (hold shift key)
Create new layer named: base then paint in circle (some light colour)
CTRL-D to stop the highlighted circle
Duplication “Base” name: Atmosphere then duplicate “Atmosphere” name: Shadow
Hide the Shadow layer then highlight the Atmosphere layer
Click on “add layer style” choose outer glow – change SIZE to create a nice outer glow
Choose inner glow – change size to create nice inner glow (play with contour too)
Go find a texture off the internet and COPY it
Highlight the base layer – choose Edit-Paste–make it fit-  rename: texture
CTRL-CLICK the base layer thumbnail to highlight the circle – choose CTRL-SHIFT-I to invert the selection – then (make sure the moon layer is highlighted) hit delete
Highlight Atmosphere layer then Change the blending options to OVERLAY (or something else!)
Highlight and Show the Shadow layer – CTRL-click on the thumbnail- (make sure it’s the circle and not the inverse selection – SHIFT-CTRL-I if necessary)
Paint it black – then CTRL-D to unhighlight - choose FILTER – blur – Gaussian blur – change the radius in order to see the edge of the planet – use the MOVE tool to slide the shadow over to an edge
Go find a Galaxy image off the internet and copy it.
Highlight the background layer - Choose Edit– paste –  make it fit - rename:galaxy
Choose the CROP tool and stretch the image to add more size on the ‘light’ side
Go back to the galaxy layer –CTRL-T and make it fit – again- click on Move tool
Choose FILTER – render – lens flare then move the cross hair into the light – (add brightness)
Add your blog address
ANIMATION:
Choose WINDOW - timeline then VIDEO animation
   5 seconds - key frame 0, 2.5 and 5 - make changes at 2.5

FILE – save-for-web - GIF - 500x500 - Forever

Do 
(basic marks) - add more!
  1. Title: Planet - Texture (planet) - galaxy - lens flare for light 
    1. opacity animation on shadow layer
  2. Title: Moon - Texture(First Nations 'Moon') - night sky - campfire for light
    1. add 2 opacity animations - moon and campfire
  3. Title: Jelly fish: Texture (jelly fish) - ocean - angler fish for light
    1. FOUR animations - different types - jelly fish moves - light follows etc
